Equine Admin Management
his role involves updating the routine horse care records, dealing with the admin side of horse intake, welfare, rehabilitation and rehoming. It also involves creating new and utilising existing policies which help us run efficiently. Our operations, practices and ethos have always been very much in line with those of the National Equine Welfare Council (NEWC), however to date we have lacked the admin resources to become full members. This role also involves networking with other organisations to maximise the number of horses we can help. It would be ideal for someone with practical equine and yard management experience and admin skills, however does not involve the manual work aspect of the horsecare

Horsecare and Training (no riding)
This is a combined practical and admin role (but it could be split) ideal for someone with hands-on equine experience who believes in humane, force-free training methods. Our ethos is based on positive reinforcement, and we are looking for someone to help continue spreading this message through both practice and outreach.
We are looking for someone to spend 2 or 3 hours per week ideally over 2 - 3 sessions per week working with non-ridden horses. We currently don't have premises to do the training from, however should have resolved this over the next 3 to 4 months. In the meantime, there is much to do by spreading the word on humane handling. The admin side of this role is to help spread the knowledge about horse-friendly training methods by either writing or sourcing articles and information (books, other websites etc.) on how people can train their horses without force/fear etc. so that these can be put on our website, with the ultimate aim of creating an info hub to promote better welfare in the wider horse population. In the medium and long term we would also like to reintroduce events such as workshops in various locations and other events to demonstrate the methods in use.
We regularly receive calls from concerned members of the public regarding horse welfare. Many of these do require a visit.
We rehome our horses on a permanent loan basis. Rehomed horses are visited on occasion to ensure all is well, and also homes have to be vetted before rehoming, so there are several aspects to this role.
Travel expenses are payable for this role.
