Groom / supervisor

All For Horses is a small horse rescue and rehoming charity. We take in horses from different situations and find them new homes when they are ready. Some horses have come to us from loving homes, some have been abandoned or suffered very bad treatment.

​

We are looking for part time staff for two days a week, 8.30am until 12.30pm or 12.30pm until 4.30pm.

​

Own transport is essential as we are located in a rural area with no public transport.

​

This role involves looking after our horses and supervising/training students who come to us to learn about horse care.
Applicants must have previous experience of sole charge and be competent in all aspects of day to day horse care, including handling unbroken and remedial horses. The work can be physically demanding - such as moving hay bales around, so a reasonable degree of fitness is essential.

We operate from a small farm, without a concreted yard, so applicants need to be happy to cope with mud!

Tasks include, but are not limited to: ensuring that horses have suitable hay and water, bringing horses in and checking their health and condition, fitting rugs and tack, managing and dealing with minor first aid treatments, supervising and ensuring the wellbeing of our student volunteers (normally two at once).

​

It is essential that applicants are open minded about learning new ways of handling horses as needed. We use horse-friendly training and handling methods, resulting in happy and relaxed horses. Our horses are contented as they mostly live outside 24/7 in small herds.

Wage £10 per hour
