An Update on Our Situation

We wanted to give everyone who has been following our situation an update on where things stand at present.

The good news is that we have now been able to pay some of the costs arising from our dispute with the North York Moors National Park Authority, and have been given some extra time to pay the balance. That has taken away some of the immediate deadline pressure, which is a huge relief.
Unfortunately, though, the extra time does not make the £38,176 we still need to find disappear. We need to raise this money as quickly as possible.
At the same time, having been required to move our rescued horses away from the charity’s own land, we are now facing significantly increased ongoing costs to keep them safe, happy and properly cared for elsewhere.
Meeting these additional costs is an enormous challenge, especially for a small charity run entirely by unpaid trustees.
We’ve been here for animals for more than 30 years. We have taken in horses that were unwanted, neglected, mistreated or whose owners could simply no longer care for them. We have watched frightened horses learn to trust again, nursed sick horses back to health and, when they were ready, found loving new homes for horses who had a second chance at life.
We are determined to protect more than three decades of that work and continue being here for horses who need us.
The extra time gives us a better chance of dealing with the financial pressure, but we still need your help.
If you can:
donate to our fundraiser
shop with us
support one of our fundraising activities
or simply share our story on your social media
you will be helping us continue caring for our horses while we work towards putting the charity on a stronger financial footing.
And to everyone who has already donated, shared our appeals, visited our shop or helped us in any other way, thank you. Your support has helped us get this far, and it means more to our little charity than we can possibly say.
If you’re only just joining us and would like to understand how we ended up in this position, you can read the full story here:
